The opportunity for you to be
represented by David Carr REALTOR, was formally initiated in
Connecticut on July 1, 1997 (Public Act 69-159). This law
specifically defines what a Realtor can and can not do for a home
buyer without an exclusive buyer agreement.
IN CONNECTICUT, A REALTOR CAN (without written agreement):
a) Give general property information
b) Give general information about office policy/operation.
c) Give mortgage rate information/bank referrals
IN CONNECTICUT, A REALTOR CAN NOT (without written agreement):
a) Ask buyer to disclose buyers their position or reasons for buying a homeb) Express an opinion or give advise regarding property location or value
c) Physically show and listed property
d) Discuss an offer or engage in written negotiations
If you want a REALTOR who will work for you, not the seller of the home you want to buy, it is clearly to your advantage to have David Carr be your Exclusive Buyer Consultant. Otherwise you may be conducting business with an owner or agent who does not represent your fiduciary interests. This agent may not keep confidential financial and strategic information you disclose in general conversation, from the seller of the property you are considering. This can hurt your end result
